For three decades, he has been a consultant in corporate organisational strategy, Corporate & Financial Intelligence, Data Protection (Privacy) and Artificial Intelligence, and is a recognised expert in combating crime, particularly economic, financial and digital offences, in both the private and public sectors (MOGC pursuant to Law 231/01).
He is Honorary Consul of Malaysia.
He is an adjunct professor of Corporate Intelligence and Cybercrime on university degree and master’s programmes: he is currently the lead lecturer for the ‘Cybercrime and Web Security’ modules on the criminology degree programme. Over the years, he has been invited to teach on courses, seminars and master’s programmes by the University of Milan-Bicocca, the University of Padua (Padua and Rovigo), the University of Rome Tor Vergata, the University of Verona (Vicenza campus), the LIMEC campus in Milan and the CIELS campus in Padua.
Since 2010, he has been affiliated with, and since 2015 a member of, the Scientific Committee of the B-ASC (Bicocca Applied Statistics Centre), a research centre at the University of Milan-Bicocca.
From 2013 to 2024, he was a member of the faculty and lecturer in “Economic and Financial Intelligence” – a Level II Master’s programme in “Economic Intelligence” – Department of Educational Sciences and Technologies – University of Rome Tor Vergata; and from 2017 to 2025, he was a member of the Technical Committee of CESINTES – Centre for Interdisciplinary Studies and Research at the University of Rome Tor Vergata.
Since 2019, he has been a member of the teaching staff for the Level II Master’s programme in ‘Innovation, Design and Evaluation of Policies and Services’ at the University of Padua – Department of Political, Legal and International Studies, and a lecturer on ‘Smart Working & Privacy: Business Continuity & Crisis Management’.
Since 2018, he has been a lecturer at the 24Ore Business School on the Master’s programmes “Data Protection Officer and the New General Data Protection Regulation” and “Model 231 and the Supervisory Body”; since 2024, he has been the academic director and lecturer on the Master’s programme “AI and Legal Compliance”.
Over the years, he has been a lecturer/speaker at courses, seminars and conferences organised by: the Italian Banking Association (ABI); the Insurance Supervisory Authority (IVASS); the Superior Council of the Judiciary (CSM); the National Commission for Companies and the Stock Exchange (Consob); the Carabinieri (Veneto Legion); for civilian staff of the Ministry of the Interior serving in the province of Padua; and the Italian Army Non-Commissioned Officers’ Training School (Viterbo).
He is accredited:
• to the EDPB’s Support Pool of Experts (European Data Protection Board), and was included in 2022 and confirmed in 2026 on the reserve list for both sectors (technical experts in new technologies and cyber security; legal experts in new technologies).
• Senior Advisor on ‘Internationalisation’ at APRI International – Confprofessioni;
• Member of the Scientific Committee of the Department of Liberal Professions at Confprofessioni;
• Member of the Scientific Committee of Federprivacy.
He has been a member of working groups on ‘Artificial Intelligence standardisation’ – Uninfo (an organisation affiliated with UNI for the standardisation of information technologies and their applications); Committee member of the International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO/IEC JTC).
Since 2012, he has been accredited and has been appointed as an ‘Independent Expert / Senior Advisor’ by various Directorates-General of the European Commission. During the 18th legislature, he served as an adviser to the Parliamentary Commission of Inquiry into “illegal activities related to the waste cycle and associated environmental offences” (EcoMafie) of the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Italian Republic.
A highly regarded speaker, he frequently takes part – often alongside representatives of various institutional bodies such as, for example, the Data Protection Authority, AGID, ACN, the Guardia di Finanza, etc. – in meetings, conferences, seminars, etc. (often at institutional venues, such as, by way of example, the Chamber of Deputies, the Senate of the Republic, the Campidoglio, and branch offices of the European Parliament, etc.). He is the author of numerous scientific publications (in Italian, English and Spanish) – including books, papers and articles – which have undergone double-blind peer review; many of these have been cited in international scientific publications and have been selected and held in the Library of the United States Senate; the Bibliothèque de la Cour de justice des Communautés européennes (European Court of Justice); the Parliamentary Library Network (Chamber of Deputies and Senate of the Italian Republic); the CNEL Library; the Court of Auditors Library, etc.
